Even though we've seen a lot of Glasgow-smiles around because of that Batman movie, you somehow bring a whole different light to it. Or darkness to it I should say. I actually like how you have it cropped to where the center of attention is on your mouth and nothing more; it gives off a sort of feeling that yes something just happened and this is the end result and a camera just happened to catch the last moment of it. If that makes sense at all. The appearence of brusing on both your cheek bone area and on your collar bones add more effect to the over all piece, like hinting that there was some sort of struggle of sorts.
Your piercings however add a bit more beauty to it which almost makes me feel, 'Perhaps they did this to themselves...how creepy' (but in a good way of course)
Overall the only thing I find a bit off is the streaks of blood down your chin, it make just be my monitor and I've adjusted the setting but they look a little too bright so to speak. I think if you let the blood 'bleed' the way you have it on the far right of the photo where you can see some of that dark color dripping down as well would make the piece even better.
Very well done executing the piece and your idea, and thank you for shining a new light on the subject.
there's a Japanese Urban Legend called Kuchisaki Onna (the slit mouthed woman) I think you should look it up. it's quite interesting to be honest with you. .-)
I am mostly doing it for fun at the moment. I am in no way a professional at photography or special effects make-up. I hope to possibly take it further in the future but currently I am just a person with a point and shoot that likes gore and photography (:
oh okay! cause either way here are some tips -using halloween quality fake blood kind of makes it unbelievable. it looks too watery and blotchy for real blood. -try using red food coloring gel. it's edible and looks a lot better c: -um, try not to use black as a base for cuts, unless it is a really deep stab wound because blood is not that dark when it's close to the surface. if you want a darker blood, just use darker red/brown makeup for a base. -also, there would be more bruising around the chelsea smile itself. i suggest doing a very light version of the bruising that you already do c: making it look like an actual cut calls for liquid latex, but i have never worked with it so i couldn't help you there :c hope this helps a bit xD
